ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

My passion for learning and commitment to professional growth have led me to expand my influence as an administrator. I leverage the range of leadership skills developed over the past decade to serve as a Curriculum and Instruction Assistant Principal and develop and implement an annual school wide improvement plan. I support and serve a range of stakeholders and collaborate with leaders throughout the district to guide instructional practices and professional learning using multiple data sources and research based strategies.

Developing and facilitating professional learning experiences for teachers is a way I serve as an instructional leader.

1. Instructional Leadership

I continually seek ways to serve as a role model and collaborative leader through the following duties and responsibilities:

2. School Climate

I consistently promote the success of all students by developing, advocating, and sustaining an academically rigorous, positive, and safe school climate for all stakeholders. I model daily high expectations, mutual respect, concern, and empathy for students, staff, parents, and community. My guidance of our TOP 20 TEACHERS Building Relationships Staff Development workshops serves to cultivate a positive academic learning environment. I involve students, staff, parents, and the community in the Title I school-wide planning process to create and sustain a positive, safe, and healthy learning environment which reflects state, district, and local school rules, policies, and procedures. Related duties and responsibilities include:

3. Planning and Assessment

Through the Title I school-wide planning process, IB Council meetings, SAM process, and during administrative meetings I consistently gather, analyze, and use a variety of data to inform planning and decision-making consistent with established guidelines, policies, and procedures. Related duties and responsibilities include:

4. Organizational Management

I consistently foster the success of all students by supporting, managing, and overseeing the school’s organization, operation, and use of resources during weekly administrative meetings and guidance of committees and collaborative teams. Related duties and responsibilities:

5. Human Resources Management

I consistently foster effective human resources management through the selection, induction, support, and retention of quality instructional and support personnel. I have participated in a majority of new hire interviews and have developed support programs for new teachers, gifted endorsement candidates and others. I continually seek ways to serve as a collaborative leader through the SAM process. Related duties and responsibilities:

6. Teacher/Staff Evaluation

I consistently and fairly evaluate school personnel in accordance with state and district guidelines and provide them with timely and constructive feedback focused on improved student learning. I have helped develop the administrative team's process, schedule, and support documents to guide the evaluations process. Related duties and responsibilities:

7. Professionalism

I consistently foster the success of students by demonstrating professional standards and ethics, engaging in continuous professional development, and contributing to the profession. Beyond the local school setting I participate in county processes such as the GEMS Oversight Committee, Coach Endorsement Advisory Board, etc. and attend at least one professional conference each year. I support parents and all stakeholders through our Title I events and school wide plan.

8. Communication and Community Relations

I consistently foster the success of all students by communicating and collaborating effectively with stakeholders through the Title I process, leading staff development, and developing a variety of communication processes for the school. Related duties and responsibilities:
